A premium SAE30 monograde oil, Castrol Classic XL30 is formulated for vintage classics from the pre-1950s, containing additives that control varnish, give excellent anti-wear protection, and help with the buildup of engine sludge. It also provides excellent cold temperature starting and improved oil pressure at high temperatures. XL30 was used in most types of manual gearboxes of vintage cars and was factory-specified for many pre-selector gearboxes such as Wilson.
